INFRASTRUCTURE  INVESTMENT

Supporting Housing Growth through Infrastructure Investment

Dungog Shire is planning for significant population and housing growth, but without investment in essential infrastructure, our ability to accommodate this growth and meet the needs of our communities will be constrained.

Dungog Shire Council has undertaken extensive planning to guide the Shire's future, including the development of a comprehensive Housing and Infrastructure Master Plan.

This plan identifies how Dungog can accommodate 2,400 additional homes by 2041, in line with the NSW Government's Hunter Regional Plan.

But planning for growth is only part of the challenge.

Delivering new homes and supporting growing communities requires investment in essential infrastructure, including water and sewerage services, roads, bridges, flood resilience, recreation facilities and community spaces.

With a small ratepayer base and significant existing infrastructure responsibilities, Council cannot fund these major projects alone.

We have done the planning. Now we need the investment to turn these plans into reality.

We're asking the NSW Government to:

Help us fund the following critical projects to improve community resilience, address infrastructure contraints, and meet our Hunter Regional plan 2041 housing target by funding the following projects:
